Grand Final And Preliminary Match Ups Laid Out

Final cricket last weekend saw some great performances from the Griffith district players to set up some grand final positionings.

Leagues Club Panthers versus Han-wood was the qualifying final. A win for Hanwood sees them progress to the grand final on March 27 and 28.

Hanwood reached 144 and 7/147 in two innings, with the Panthers all out for 101. Hanwood’s all-rounder Luke Docherty starred with 6/29. Jimmy Binks was fantastic with the ball for Leagues Club Pan-thers, taking 4/39 and 4/22.

Ex-Services Diggers reached 7/155 trumping Coro Club Cougars in the elimination final and are into the preliminarily final this weekend, facing up against the Leagues Club Panthers on Saturday.

In second grade, Coro Club Cougars finished 6/116 at the end of overs in the qualifying final, defeating Coly Nomads 58 and progressing through to the grand final weekend. Dion Pascoe took 5 wickets for only 12 for the Cougars. It was a close elimination match, Ex-Servicemens Diggers defeated Hanwood 3/88, Liam Gilbert taking 4 wickets for 28.

This will see Ex-Servicemens Diggers progress to the preliminary final against Coly this Saturday.

Leagues Club Panthers defeated Ex-Servicemens Eagles with 6/152 at the end of overs in the third grade qualifying final, progressing through to the grand final. The Eagles only managed 50 before they were all out.

Coro Club Cougars won at 5/193 at the end of overs against the Coly Nomads who were all out for 103 in the elimination match.

This sees Coro progress to the preliminary against Ex-Servicemans Eagles on Friday. The winner will play Leagues in the Grand Final.

Coro Club Cougars won the fourth grade grand final against Ex-Servicemens Eagles last Wednesday.

Exies Eagles defeated Exies Diggers in the preliminary Final last Wednesday, and will take on Coro Cougars in the Grand Final on Wednesday at Exies 1, with a 4:30pm start.
