After a very quiet Easter in 2020, Griffith residents were itching to get out and experience all of the festivities on offer with this year’s Easter Party.

Easter Saturday was all about Banna Avenue this year.

The Children’s Easter Brunch was a huge success again this year, with the buzzing sounds of children’s chatter and laughter interspersed with live music and a few stories and messages throughout the morning filling CWA Park.

There was a smorgasbord of delicious foods including fresh fruit, hot cross buns and a sausage sizzle.

The children were excited to try their hands at the activities scattered around the park, from walking on stilts, a giant snakes and ladders game, decorating their own Easter biscuits and trying their hand a little woodcraft.

A big draw was the helium balloons. Kids were lined up for an hour and a half according to one parent, just to get their hands on their very own balloon poodle, butterfly, flower, giraffe, motorbike, or any number of other options.

Rebekah Donaldson was on hand to lend a helping hand. “I’m just here to help my little brother,” Ms Donaldson said.

“I’m from Cobar, but I started face painting here 20 years ago, so I thought it would be nice to come and help my brother this year. “Our dad was an art teacher, so we used to get roped in to help out with events like these.”

Fusion Riverina was also on hand to assist children with activities such as walking on the stilts and other funky games.

The true message of Easter was shared, and Bruno Rizzeri shared a piece of his life story with the crowd.
