Griffith Spring Fest Celebrates 32 Years Of Open Gardens
Celebrating 32 years this year’s Griffith Spring Fest’s Open Gardens offer something for everyone to enjoy.
One of the most popular events on the Griffith Spring Fest program will celebrate its 32 year in 2024.
That’s right, the open gardens have been attracting thousands of visitors to the region every year for more than three decades - testament to its enduring popularity.
The Griffith Tourism Team invited garden enthusiasts and nature lovers to explore the hidden beauty of this year’s eight stunning privately-owned gardens, which will be open Saturday and Sunday, October 19 and 20 from 10 am to 4 pm.
These open gardens are a delightful opportunity to experience a rich horticultural tapestry, with each garden owner showcasing their unique landscapes, vibrant flora and design inspirations that will leave visitors inspired.
Add to that the warm hospitality each garden owner offers and it is clear why the open gardens remain such a special part of the Griffith Spring Fest program year after year.
Events Coordinator Izabella Apolloni said they were excited to announce that there were three new gardens to explore this year.
“Jenny and Richard Fletcher’s garden on Crooke Road, Fiona and Michael Smith’s garden on Myall Park Road and Cathy Stockton’s garden in Yenda,” Ms Apolloni said.
“Also opening up their beautiful gardens again for 2024 are Ron and Lyn Anson, Trish and Louis Sartor, Marj and Mick Careri, Tori Horder and Lawrence Salvestrin, and Emeri De Bortoli.”
Entry to each garden costs $8 per person and tickets can be pre-purchased at the Griffith Tourism Hub for those who want to pay via Eftpos, or paid with cash at the garden gate on the day.
Under 16-year-olds will be admitted free of charge.
If you really want to relax and immerse yourself in the beauty of Griffith’s private gardens and enjoy the serenity of the surrounding landscape, you might like to book a seat on a Garden Bus Tour.
These exclusive tours run on both days and include a visit to four gardens each day and a delicious light lunch, all for just $60 per adult and $30 per child, but bookings are essential.
